Privacy & patient confidentiality
Do not enter identifiable patient information.
Describe patients generally — “a nervous patient in her 40s”, not their name. FD Companion checks what you write and will ask you to remove anything that looks identifiable.

What we check
Before anything is saved or sent to an AI service, FD Companion scans your text for NHS numbers, dates of birth, phone numbers, email addresses, postcodes, street addresses, record numbers and likely names. High-risk identifiers must be removed before you can continue; possible names can be replaced or confirmed as not relating to a patient.
How AI is used
AI features run on our servers, never in your browser, and only receive the text of your own anonymised notes. The AI is instructed never to add facts, experiences or learning you didn't provide, and every generated sentence is checked against your notes.
Who can see your portfolio
Only you — and an educational supervisor you have invited and who has accepted. Supervisors can read and comment but can never change your reflections. You can remove a supervisor at any time.
Your data
You can download everything you've recorded, or permanently delete your account and all associated data, from Settings.
